Export-Grade Shrink Wrapping for
two 40-foot Luxury Motor Yacht

Background

A Luxury Motor Yacht Southeast Asia distributor needed re-wrapping two Luxury Motor Yacht for a client. These yachts were shipped from Europe to Malaysia, arriving here at Malaysia for verification and testing. They were initially unwrapped so the team could perform sea trials and check for any shipping damage before final delivery.

Once the inspections were finished, the yachts needed to be professionally wrapped again to stay safe during the final trip to the client. For this expert task that requires extra care, they called Albatross.

The Challenges

Handling luxury boats leaves zero margin for error.

This project had several big hurdles. First, each yacht sits on a fixed foam cradle that cannot be moved, which makes it very hard to reach and wrap the bottom of the boat.

Second, the work area was very tight. We had to finish one yacht and move it out before we could bring the next one in. Finally, because the yacht we dealing is a a flagship premium brand, the wrap had to look perfect, tight, clean, and flawless.

The Albatross Solution

We followed a very organized plan to make sure everything went smoothly. While the technical team was checking the engines and the boat’s condition, our 4-person team worked alongside them. We applied soft PE foam to all sharp edges and sensitive areas to prevent any damage during the trip.

To solve the problem of the fixed cradles, we used a travel lift crane to pick up the boats. This allowed our team to reach the underside and create a full, secure seal. Because the workspace was small, we worked in stages, focusing on one yacht at a time to keep the workflow moving. We coordinated closely with the technicians to make sure all mechanical checks were done before we sealed the boats for good.

Outcome

The project was a success. We finished wrapping both 40-foot luxury motor yachts in just 2.5 days. The final result was a clean, tight, and professional finish that matched the boats’ luxury quality. The yachts were perfectly prepared for their final delivery.
